RIAC’s programs and services are available to everyone who has come to Newfoundland and Labrador from somewhere else – regardless of when they arrived, or what their status is.
- Refugees and immigrants
- International students
- Temporary foreign workers
- Family members
- newcomers from anywhere in the world, including other parts of Canada
RIAC also serves the larger Newfoundland community by helping create an environment that welcomes immigrants. With the combination of decreasing birthrates and an aging population, newcomers are a crucial source of labour and expertise necessary for prosperity. Immigrants make significant contributions to our society through their entrepreneurial spirit. The new businesses they establish and the innovative ideas they share are important drivers of economic growth, while their contributions in food, music and art lend cultural vitality.
