The Coalition on Richer Diversity (CORD) is an umbrella organization, formed in 2007 in Newfoundland and Labrador, that enriches the community by bringing people together and being a resource. It reaches out to organizations and groups of immigrants and those who provide services in the community to collaborate, to offer networking opportunities, and to help them grow to be diversity sensitive.

We call this is a Diversity Event because CORD was created to enhance diversity among newcomers and long-time residents in all sectors and facets of our society. At this event we will be discussing the diverse issues and the diverse solutions with regards to employment of refugees and immigrants in a convoluted economy This will also be a fun event where we hope that everyone will enjoy themselves and partake in great discussions around these issues.   The major topics of discussion will be employment and the Hidden Job Market. The morning will center around discussions about the communication gap between employers, employees and the general public.  It will also discuss how cultural differences affect the way we communicate with others and how they communicate with us.

We invite anyone involved or interested in these issues to join us in these discussions. Since coffee, tea, snacks and lunch will be provided, we ask you to please RSVP via email to coordinator or at 709-754-4122 by Monday, Jan. 30th with the name of the attendee(s) and organization/company (or if you are just interested) and also indicate any dietary considerations.
