We fulfill our mandate via four major programs, one of which is ESL Language Help:
We facilitate participation, rather than integration, of refugees and immigrants in our communities. We do so by providing a variety of services that our members and the community at large can avail of.
Our English as a Second Language Help Program will provide newcomers with the skills to be able to live an independent and productive life in Canada.
There is no prerequisite or registration procedure. The service is free for everyone that needs it.
RIAC has organized an ESL Help service that is four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday 7:00-9:00 pm; Tuesday at 1:00 pm. The service is provided by experienced volunteers and we currently have 15 volunteer instructors in the program.
We also have a Conversation Partner Program in which a learner is paired with a volunteer to meet at their leisure and in a place of their convenience.
